Burbank man receives Spirit of America award
BURBANK -- Burbank resident David F. King will receive the Spirit
of America award during the annual Fourth of July celebration hosted
by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1101 N. Central
Ave., Glendale. The event begins at 9 a.m. Friday.
King, who spent more than two years in the Netherlands as a
missionary and has held various church offices, is being recognized
for his service to the church and the community.
A longtime member of the Burbank Noon Kiwanis, King is a member of
the Verdugo Hills Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He has served
as president of both organizations. King has also served as treasurer
and founding board member of Leadership Burbank, and is a 30-year
member of the Burbank Chamber of Commerce.
King and his wife, Joyce, have six children and four
grandchildren.
