Man assaulted twice with bat
A 28-year-old Burbank man was hospitalized after he was allegedly
struck twice in the head with a baseball bat.
The man went to a home in the 2800 block of West Victory Boulevard
on Tuesday, where police said he got into an argument with
27-year-old Paul Garcia. The argument escalated, and Garcia allegedly
struck the man in the head with a bat. The man left the house, but
later returned and was allegedly struck again by Garcia, police said.
The man then gathered a group of friends to confront Garcia, but
apparently became disoriented and took them to the 1400 block of
Victory, where police said the men began knocking on doors looking
for Garcia. The victim then collapsed and was taken by paramedics to
Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, police said.
Garcia was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon
and marijuana possession, police said. The victim was treated and
released from the hospital Tuesday, a spokesman said.
