Woman crashes through Costco lot

NORTHWEST DISTRICT -- A 24-year-old Tujunga woman was injured

early Thursday after her truck hit a retaining wall and skidded

through the Costco parking lot.

The woman, whose name was withheld pending further investigation

and notification of her family, was driving east on Victory Boulevard

when she failed to negotiate a curve in the road and struck a

retaining wall, police said. Her pickup truck went airborne and

landed on its roof, skidding for more than 100 feet before coming to

rest in the parking lot.

One witness estimated the truck was traveling at 80 to 100 mph at

the time of the crash, police said.

The woman was taken to County-USC Medical Center in Los Angeles,

where she was in critical condition Friday.
