Alleged robbers shot at by victim
An attempted armed street robbery Monday ended when the victim opened
fire on the men trying to rob him.
The incident began at 12:37 p.m. when a black sport utility
vehicle pulled in front of a car driven by a 45-year-old Burbank man
in the 100 block of East Cedar Avenue, blocking his lane of travel.
The victim told police that two men carrying handguns got out of the
SUV. The man then pulled a handgun from his own glove box and fired
six rounds at the SUV, police said. Four men reportedly ran from the
SUV and were picked up later by the driver.
As of late Tuesday, no charges were filed against the Burbank man
who fired the shots, but police said the investigation was ongoing.
Police also said they had not determined if the victim knew the
suspects.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Det.
Darin Ryburn at 238-3246.
