PROBATION OFFICER
WHAT HAPPENED
The council unanimously approved a resolution to renew an
agreement with the Los Angeles County Probation Department to fund
one probation officer at the Burbank Outreach Center.
WHAT IT MEANS
The position, for which the county and city split the $110,000
cost, will continue for at least one more year. It had been renewed
every year since 1992, however this year it initially appeared as one
of the proposed reductions by the police department before council
members expressed an interest in maintaining it.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
WHAT HAPPENED
The council voted unanimously to revise the minimum qualification
specifications for all unrepresented management and executive
positions.
WHAT IT MEANS
Applicants who do not meet minimum education or experience
requirements will no longer be immediately disqualified if they
exceed the requirements in one of those areas.
COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS
WHAT HAPPENED
Lori Tubert was appointed to the Youth Endowment Services
Committee and Daniel Humfreville was appointed to the Planning Board.
WHAT IT MEANS
Tubert and Humfreville will immediately fill vacancies on the
respective committees.
