BTAC to give out food to seniors

NORTHWEST DISTRICT -- Burbank Temporary Aid Center will launch a

new food distribution program for seniors from 9 a.m. until noon Aug.

26, and continuing it on the fourth Tuesday of every month behind the

Joslyn Center.

Eligible seniors will receive approximately 40 pounds of food as

soon as they sign up for the program, which is run by the L.A.

Regional Food Bank.

Each qualified participant will receive a free food kit once a

month in addition to the food they are currently receiving from the

BTAC food pantry, or other government sources. Each food kit includes

meat, canned fruits and vegetables, dry milk, cereals and other

grains.

To qualify, seniors must be age 60 or older, possess a valid

California identification card or driver’s license, and proof of

income. The food will be distributed in the Joslyn Center’s back

parking lot in the 1300 block of Clark Street.
