Burbank girl drowns in pool

A 3-year-old Burbank girl died Wednesday from what police called an

accidental drowning.

The girl was one of five kids playing in a backyard pool at a home

in the 1000 block of East San Jose Avenue. After the children came

inside, the adults noticed the girl was not with them, police said.

When they went outside they found her in a spa connected to the pool,

police said.

Police and paramedics were called to the home about 3:30 p.m. The

girl was taken to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, but police

said paramedics were unable to revive her.

The death was ruled accidental and police said no criminal charges

will be filed. Because the victim was a child and there was no crime,

police declined to release her name.
