HELEN ‘PAT’ PHILLIPS OLIVER

Helen “Pat” Phillips Oliver, 84, died July 29, 2003, in San Diego.

She was born in 1919 in Crown Point, Ind., and was a longtime

Burbank resident.

She worked as a reporter and editor for the Burbank Daily Review

and the Hollywood Citizen-News covering Academy Awards presentations,

movie premieres, fashion, travel and music. She also worked as the

managing editor of Palm Springs Life for 15 years.

She was also a singer and lyricist.

Mrs. Oliver is survived by her daughters, Anne Kindness Phillips,

Jill Stoff, Candace Cromwell, Pamela Pallette; stepchildren Debra and

Randy Oliver; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s

Assn., 5900 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 1700, Los Angeles, CA 90036.

MARIE ELIA PAINO

Marie Elia Paino, 66, died Aug. 26, 2003, in Burbank.

She was born Aug. 17, 1937, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in

Burbank for 36 years.

She was a member of the Burbank Advisory Council and St. Francis

Xavier Church.

Mrs. Paino is survived by her sister.

A Mass of Christian burial was Thursday at St. Francis Xavier

Church.

Valley Funeral Home was in charge of direction.
