Former President Gerald Ford, left, and his wife, Betty, pose for a

photo Wednesday with Jerome Strack, general manager of The Graciela

Burbank hotel. The Fords were in town to attend a memorial tribute

for Bob Hope, who died July 27 at age 100. The comedian was

memorialized at a Mass in North Hollywood’s St. Charles Borromeo

Catholic Church and at a tribute at the Academy of Television Arts &

Sciences. The Mass drew an estimated 800 people while about 600

attended the tribute. Both were by invitation only.

The former president and his wife, along with retired Gen.

William Westmoreland and members of the Hope family, stayed at the

upscale boutique hotel on Pass Avenue.
