Chamber to hold luncheon

HILLSIDE DISTRICT -- The Burbank Chamber of Commerce will sponsor

its monthly Business Connection Luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Thursday at The Castaway Restaurant, 1250 Harvard Road.

The luncheon’s guest speaker will be Peggy O’Neill, who will talk

about self-empowerment. The lunch and the program begin at noon.

Cost is $22 for members, $27 for nonmembers.

The chamber’s business connection lunches are the second Thursday

Frommer bill heads to Senate

BURBANK -- Legislation written by a local legislator that seeks to

curb illegal tax shelters is now pending on the state Senate floor.

A bill by Assemblyman Dario Frommer (D-Burbank) that would

increase fines for tax shelter abusers was passed by the Senate

Appropriations Committee on Aug. 29.

Resident heading up new community

BURBANK -- Burbank resident Gregg D. Lotane has been named

executive director for Playa Vista Parks and Landscape Corp.

The firm is the property management group that will administer the

new community of Playa Vista in West Los Angeles.

Lotane will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the

new residential planned community while developing goals for its

board of directors.

Lotane brings more than 18 years of experience in the community

association and property management field to his new position.

His background includes managing high-rise, mid-rise, garden-style

condominium and apartment properties in Southern California,

Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia.
