Reconsider stance on BTAC
I am writing in regard to Dan Ortoski’s letter that appeared in the
Leader on Sept. 20.
I understand your anger and frustration with the decision by the
Burbank Temporary Aid Center board of directors to fire Pat Smola as
executive director while she was on workers’ compensation leave.
While you are entitled to withdraw your support of BTAC, I would
like you to know that I am unhappy with your decision. See, BTAC has
helped me and on occasion is still doing what they can for me. If you
and others do not give donations to BTAC, then people like me who are
falling through the cracks of an inane system will suffer.
I urge you and others to rethink your position, and that also
includes the BTAC board.
