Two boys stabbed in gang-related attack

NORTHWEST DISTRICT -- Two men were arrested after allegedly

stabbing two Burbank teens over the weekend in what police described

as a gang- related attack.

Burbank resident Diego Edwardo Prats, 18, and Sylmar resident

Gerardo Cabral, 21, approached a group of teenagers at about 10 p.m.

Saturday outside a residence in the 2300 block of North Fairview

Street and allegedly stabbed a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, according to a police report.

The men were arrested early the next morning and charged with

attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

The 14-year-old boy suffered lacerations to the face and the

16-year-old boy suffered lacerations to the back and arms.

Both received treatment for their wounds and were released from

hospitals.

Parents invited to junior, senior night

MEDIA DISTRICT NORTH -- Parents of Burbank High School juniors and

seniors interested in learning more about college preparation are

invited to come to the school’s library at 7 p.m. today.

Counselor Bob Camacho will discuss college testing information,

upcoming deadlines and outline the California State University and

University of California college systems.

Burbank High’s counseling department is hosting the information

session, and members will be on hand to make individual appointments

with any parents. The school is at 902 N. Third St.
