For representing the values of Boy Scouting, radio talk show
commentator Dennis Prager will be honored at the Good Turn Award
Recognition Dinner on Oct. 16 at the Hilton Glendale.
Prager will be presented with a bronze statue of a Scout helping a
senior citizen cross the street, said Andrew Messer, executive
director of the Boy Scouts of America Verdugo Hills Council. It’s a
figure the Boy Scouts have used since it began in the United States
in 1910, depicting their motto, “Do a Good Turn Daily.”
“The reason our volunteer committee chose Dennis Prager is because
he’s one of the best public figures of the day, who truly represents
the values that scouting teaches found in the 12 points of the Scout
oath and law,” Messer said.
Some of those values are being trustworthy, helpful, courteous,
kind and reverent.
Prager is an author, lecturer, teacher and theologian with a
nationally syndicated radio talk show originating from Glendale on
KRLA-AM (870).
Last year, the award was presented to Supervisor Michael
Antonovich. Other awardees have been Jimmy Stewart, Bob Hope and
Florence Henderson.

president of the Verdugo Hills Council, and board member Irshad
Ul-Haque.
