TRANSPORTATION STUDY
WHAT HAPPENED
The council heard a report on a transit study completed by the
Arroyo Verdugo Cities Subregion, which includes the Burbank,
Glendale, La Canada Flintridge, Pasadena and South Pasadena areas.
WHAT IT MEANS
The study found that there is an unmet need for better connections
between the Burbank-Glendale- Pasadena Airport, area transportation
nodes and activity centers. The study also found service deficiencies
along the Buena Vista Street, Verdugo Avenue and Kenneth Road
corridors. Among the strategies proposed to improve local conditions:
a circular bus service to supplement the Metropolitan Transportation
Authority’s regional routes.
