ARCHITECTS APPROVED FOR NEW PROJECT
WHAT HAPPENED
An agreement with Leo A. Daily Architects will provide
architectural design, specialty consultants and engineering services
to complete the design for the Development and Community Services
Building project.
WHAT IT MEANS
The action resumes the design process. The city had placed the
project on hold in January in response to the need to cut costs due
to the state’s budget crisis.
VOTE
The council voted 4-0 to approve the professional services
agreement. Mayor Stacey Murphy did not attend the meeting.
CONTRACT AWARDED FOR VEHICLE AND PEDESTRIAN DETECTION SYSTEMS
WHAT HAPPENED
Staff requested the awarding of a contract to TDS Engineering
Systems for the installation of pedestrian and vehicle detection
systems at 10 intersections in the city.
WHAT IT MEANS
The approval of the contract means the project will upgrade and
modernize traffic signals at the intersections. TDS Engineering
Systems’ bid for the project was $816,905. City funding for the
project is set at $871,996.
VOTE
The council voted 4-0 to grant the contract, with Murphy absent.
