Jill Denise Kortlucke and Mark Joshua Ortega, both of New York City,

were married in her parents’ garden in Warren, Conn. Navy chaplain

the Rev. Joseph Johnson officiated.

The maid of honor was Christina Doe, the bride’s best friend.

The best man was Andrew Ortega, the groom’s brother.

Following the reception, the couple spent a monthlong honeymoon on

the island of Caye Caulker, located off of Belize, and in Mexico

City. They are living in New York City.

The bride is the daughter of Trinidad and Derek Kortlucke of

Warren, Conn. She graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia

and is a full-time student in the master’s program at Hunter College

in New York.

The groom is the son of Mary Jo and Emilio Ortega of Burbank. He

graduated from Burbank High School in 1991 and from San Francisco

State University. He teaches 3- to 6-year-olds at the Family School,

a Montessori preschool.
