Santa brings holiday cheer by rail

Santa will trade in his reindeer for a Metrolink train to benefit

charity Friday when he stops in Burbank aboard the Holiday Toy

Express.

The train, adorned with holiday decoration, will pull into the

Burbank Metrolink station, 201 N. Front St., at 7:30 p.m. The event,

which benefits the Burbank firefighter’s Spark of Love Toy Drive,

will include the Media City Ballet performing segments of “The

Nutcracker” at 6:30 p.m., the arrival of Santa and other characters

from the North Pole along with complimentary hot chocolate and baked

goodies.

Participants are asked to bring unwrapped toys to be donated to

the Burbank Spark of Love toy drive, which provides holiday gifts for

economically disadvant- aged families in Burbank.
