The following incidents were taken from police reports:

AIRPORT DISTRICT

* 2311 Hollywood Way: A 21-year-old Burbank man was arrested

Tuesday for allegedly shoplifting a minidisc player from Fry’s

Electronics.

NORTHWEST DISTRICT

* 2000 block of North Edison Boulevard: A 19-year-old transient

woman was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of possessing cocaine. The

woman reportedly told police someone had stolen money she earned

selling magazine subscriptions door to door. After the women told

several contradicting versions of the alleged robbery, she admitted

the incident was fabricated because she spent the money on drugs and

needed a legitimate excuse to give her company.

MEDIA CITY CENTER

* 111 E. Magnolia Blvd.: A 17-year-old North Hollywood girl and a

20-year- old Van Nuys woman were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of

shoplifting more than $400 worth of clothing from Sears. The females

placed their children -- two toddlers -- on top of their shopping

carts to conceal the items, and left the store before being detained

by mall security.
