Burbank student recognized by Rotary
BURBANK VILLAGE -- Burbank High School student Jessica Corwin on
Tuesday was named Student of the Month for December by the Burbank
Noon Rotary Club.
Jessica, 17, was recognized for her outstanding community service,
leadership qualities and academic achievements, said Jeff Green, the
club’s chairman of youth services.
The organization awarded the senior with a $25 gift certificate
from Target and a certificate from the club during its weekly meeting
at the Burbank Family YMCA.
Jessica is the second local student to receive the award since the
Rotary Club partnered with the Burbank Unified School District to
start the program last month. The club names a different middle or
high school student each month after principals of the featured
schools choose the recipients.
