House votes on trade legislation

GLENDALE -- The House of Representatives has approved legislation

that advocates say will help normalize trade relations between the

United States and Armenia. The bill calls for the U.S. to recognize

permanent trade relations status for the Republic of Armenia.

Since April, the Glendale- based Armenian American Chamber of

Commerce has spearheaded a postcard and letter-writing campaign to

members of Congress to extend the status to Armenia.

The Burbank Chamber of Commerce will host a holiday mixer from

5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 18 at 3900 W. Alameda Ave. Entertainment will
