MAGNOLIA PARK -- Tickets are now on sale for the Burbank Chamber
of Commerce’s annual Red & White Ball on Feb. 14 at the Sheraton
Universal Hotel in Universal City.
The black-tie event will feature a special dinner and music,
entertainment and dancing. It will also include a program dedicated
to incoming chamber president Gary Olsen.
Tickets are $125 each and sponsorships range from $1,500 to
$5,000.

GLENDALE -- Robert M. Sperry, a former U.S. Patent Office
examiner, will talk about the value of patents, trademarks and
copyrights from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 14 at the office of Service

Frommer seeks tougher ATM law
BURBANK -- Assemblyman Dario Frommer (D-Burbank) along with other
legislators and a coalition of consumer advocates has unveiled
legislation that would crack down on ATM fraud.
Earlier this month Frommer announced his bill in response to a
reportedly growing trend of ATM use and a parallel trend of reports
of fraudulent use of the cards to steal financial information and
launder money.
Chipotle opens its doors in Burbank
BURBANK VILLAGE -- Chipotle Mexican Grill opened Dec. 17 in
Burbank.
The grill, which serves gourmet burritos, tacos and other Mexican
delicacies, is at 135 W. Palm Ave.
The grill is the brainchild of Steve Ells, a Culinary Institute of
America graduate who wanted to make gourmet food that was accessible
to more people.
