Egg hunt, show at Eggs-plosion of Fun

MEDIA DISTRICT WEST -- A hunt for more than 8,000 eggs filled

with candy, prizes and toys will be just one of the activities during

the sixth annual Easter Eggs-plosion of Fun event Saturday at Johnny

Carson Park, 400 S. Bob Hope Drive.

The Easter-egg hunt starts at 10 a.m., followed by a live concert

at 11 a.m. sponsored by Radio Disney, featuring performances by

Lalaine, who plays Miranda on the “Lizzie McGuire” television show,

and Jesse McCartney, of the WB ‘s “Summerland.”

The day also includes an Easter bonnet parade, pictures with the

Easter Bunny for $3, concession booths, face painting, inflatable

rides and a children’s play area.

Radio Disney will conduct a Superstar Kidz Talent contest for

children 14 and younger to showcase their singing talents. The winner

of the contest will be among the semifinalists judged by a Walt

Disney Records team to be chosen as the grand prize winner of a

recording session.

The talent show is open to the first 50 contestants who sign up at

the Superstar Kidz Talent Search booth.

‘ER’ segment filmed in City Hall

CIVIC CENTER -- City Council wasn’t in session, but that didn’t

stop TV celebrities from speaking out in the chambers.

More than 70 Warner Bros. cast and crew members working on the

long-running TV show “ER” were in City Hall on Monday filming a

segment for an upcoming episode. About 100 extras were also on

location.

No streets were closed, and access to City Hall wasn’t affected by

the production, said Norma Brolsma, the city’s filming coordinator.

“We usually have production companies shooting at City Hall maybe

two or three times a year,” Brolsma said.
