Colony’s ‘Drawer Boy’ opens Saturday
BURBANK -- Preview performances begin at 8 tonight for The Los
Angeles premiere of “The Drawer Boy” written by Michael Healey and
produced by the Colony Theatre Company. The production opens
Saturday.
Directed by David Rose, the play is about two aging bachelor
farmers in 1972 rural Ontario. World War II veterans and lifelong
friends, the farmers share a quiet life until their world is
comically disrupted by a young, energetic actor from the big city who
wants to live and work with them as research for a play about
farming.
Preview performances continue at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
Tickets are $16. The opening night tickets are $50 and include a gala
reception. Regular performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays
and 2 and 7 p.m. Sundays. Tickets range from $26 to $32 with student
and senior discounts. For tickets, call 558-7000. The play continues
through May 9 at Burbank Center Stage, 555 N. 3rd St., Burbank.
There will be additional performances at 3 p.m. April 17 and 24
and at 8 p.m. April 29 and May 6.
Two Talk-Back performances featuring discussions with the cast and
director following the performance are on April 16 and 29.

GLENDALE -- A special opening-night price of $14 is offered for
the comedy “Room Service” tonight at Glendale Centre Theatre.
Written by John Murray and Allen Boretz, the play is directed by
Gabrielle Decuir. It’s a romp about the misadventures of a penniless
producer stuck in a single hotel room with the entire cast of his
failing show. His comedic attempts to keep them from being evicted
continue to backfire.
Tickets regularly range from $15 to $18. There is a $1 processing
fee per ticket. Group rates are available. For reservations, call
