Colony’s ‘Camellias’ begins previews
The Colony Theatre Company begins previews tonight for the world
premiere of a newly revised production of “The Ladies of the
Camellias,” written and directed by Lillian Groag.
Set in France in 1897, riots and political unrest brew outside a
major Paris theater. Inside, two of the greatest rivals in the
history of the stage -- Sarah Bernhardt and Eleonora Duse -- gird for
their perceptive, quick-witted and legendary encounter.
Previews are at 8 tonight, Thursday and Friday. All tickets are
$16. The play opens Saturday. Tickets for opening night are $60 and
include a reception. Regular performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and
Saturdays and 2 and 7 p.m. Sundays. Tickets range from $26 to $36.
The theater is at 555 N. 3rd St. For reservations, call 558-7000.
