Book lovers asked

to vote for favorites

BURBANK -- What’s your all-time favorite book? Is it “Harry

Potter” or “Black Beauty?”

The Burbank Public Library wants to know. Librarians are inviting

children to vote for their favorite books in a special election to be

held through Nov. 2.

Voting booths are open to kindergarten through eighth graders at

all three branches of the Burbank Library.

Burbank students received ballots in their classrooms. Additional

ballots are available at all of the libraries. Following the

election, the schools will receive the results.

Burbank resident on Most Talented Kids

Local resident Shanica Knowles, 13, will perform on the premiere

of “America’s Most Talented Kids” at 7 p.m. on PAX TV Sunday night.

Knowles will sing and play guitar for a panel of judges and a

studio audience.

During each one-hour episode, judges will evaluate performances

from seven budding talents, ranging from singers and dancers to

comedians and magicians, all between 3 to 15 years old.
