Choirs from Temple Beth Emet and St. Jude’s Episcopal Church are

combining in a second concert with hopes of promoting peace. The

concert will be at 7:30 Saturday at St. Jude’s, 111 S. 6th St.

This concert brings together choirs from two different faiths; St.

Jude’s and Temple Beth Emet, an independent Jewish congregation.

The church, led by Father Chuck Mitchell, and the temple, led by

Rabbi Mark Sobel, have attempted to foster a bridge of understanding

between the members of both religious organizations.

St. Jude’s loans its large sanctuary to the temple for its annual

Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services. Congregants from St. Jude’s

have come to the temple on several occasions to share in services

including a Simchas Torah celebration in October.

Tickets are $10, $7 for children. Proceeds will benefit the

temple, St. Jude’s and Israeli charities. For more information, call

the temple at 843-4787 or St. Jude’s at 842-7461.
