The Los Angeles Zoo is hopping with bunnies this weekend. A

variety of activities with these furry friends will be available from

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday at the zoo’s new front entrance,

5333 Zoo Drive, Los Angeles.

Children can pet rabbits, take photographs with the Easter Bunny

and even get painted-on whiskers and paper bunny ears to look like

one. They will also get carrot seeds to take home and plant. There

will be a puppet show and musical entertainment.

Pancake breakfast to benefit scouts

Boy Scout Troop 201 has a pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to noon

today at Magnolia Park United Methodist Church. The cost is $3 and

proceeds help the scouts pay for their summer trip to Camp Whitsett

in the Sequoia National Forest.

The troops also plan to donate 50 free pancake breakfast tickets

to Burbank Temporary Aid Center, allowing those in need to eat

breakfast with community members.

The sweet science

of good discussion

The science fiction/fantasy book group meets to eat Oreo cookies

and discuss unearthly beings at 7 p.m. Monday. This week’s topic will

be sci-fi writers’ first-time novels and what makes them great. “The

Sparrow,” by Mary Doria Russell is the featured book.

The group meets the last Monday of the month at Barnes and Noble,

Easter egg hunt

Radio Disney’s Easter Eggs-Plosion is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today

at Johnny Carson Park, 400 S. Bob Hope Drive. An Easter egg hunt with

8,000 eggs filled with candy and prizes will kick off the

festivities.
