Toni Allen and Michael Albertson

Toni Allen and Michael Albertson, both of Glendale, were married

at Il Cielo in Beverly Hills. Rabbi Don Singer officiated.

Anya Matanovic, the star of Baz Luhrmann’s “La Boheme,” sang

selections from the opera for the ceremony.

The bride’s son, Andrew Baio, gave the bride away.

Joanne Fothergil was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were

Summer Allen, Ami Baio, Gina McHatton, Mary Celentano, Lizzy

Albertson, Marlena Celentano, Helen Albertson and Hazel McHatton.

Joan Schwartz was the best woman.

Ushers were Richard Albertson, Steve Celentano, Daniel Gibson,

Cooper McHatton, Riley Allen-Gibson and Eliot Baio.

The reception followed at Il Cielo.

It was an interfaith celebration with Italian and Jewish music and

dancing.

After enjoying a honeymoon in Italy, the couple are living in

Glendale.

The bride received her master’s in journalism and mass

communications from the University of Nebraska -- Lincoln. She is

working on her doctorate degree.

She is a college professor of journalism.

She is a member of the First Amendment Coalition, the Journalism

Assn. of Community Colleges, the National Academy of Recording Arts

and Sciences and is founder of “The Journalism Project.”

The groom graduated from USC School of Medicine and is a

gastroenterologist in private practice in Burbank and is affiliated

with Providence St. Joseph Medical Center.
