School boosters seeking donations

Miller Elementary School’s booster club is taking donations for a

silent auction it is having later this year.

The club is collecting a range of items, including gift

certificates, CDs, DVDs and other merchandise that local businesses

could offer. This is the club’s first auction and the date of the

event is not yet set.

Funds raised will be used to sponsor after-school activities and

Rebecca Murray, 14, will be among 2,000 other students who will

compete at a national horse show next month in Texas.

Rebecca, an entering freshman to Burbank High School, will compete

with her horse Gatolotto for one of 30 world championship titles at

the American Quarter Horse Assn.’s Youth World Championships.
