A Summer Music Series continues with Chelsea Williams from 2 to 5

p.m. and Dee Dee O’Malley from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Glendale

Marketplace shopping center on Brand Boulevard between Colorado

Street and Broadway. Admission is free. The series will continue

through Sept. 25.

SUNDAY

The Fab Four and the Blue Light Band return to the stage at 6:15

p.m. at the Starlight Bowl, 1249 Lockheed View Drive, Burbank. The

Fab Four pays tribute to the Beatles. Members of the Burbank-based

Blue Light Band have created music with Supertramp and Ozzie

Osbourne. Tickets are available only at the Starlight Bowl the

evening of the performance. Admission is $8, $5 for seniors (60+), $4

with Burbank Senior Activity Card and $5 for children 3 through 12.

The Summer Music Series continues with the Bozigian Trio from 1 to

4 p.m. and Tova from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Glendale Marketplace shopping

center, on Brand Boulevard between Colorado Street and Broadway.

WEDNESDAY

Dance Under the Stars, a weekly dance set to swing and big band

music played by the Verdugo Swing Society, continues from 6:30 to 9

p.m. each Wednesday at the south end of Verdugo Park, 1621 Canada

Blvd., Glendale. Bring a dinner and eat at the outdoor picnic

Downtown Burbank “Come Out & Dance!” continues with Johnny Polanco

Y Su Conjunto Amistad. Dance lessons begin at 6 p.m. followed by the

concert from 7 to 9 p.m. in the AMC Plaza at San Fernando Boulevard

and Palm Avenue. Other Latin groups scheduled are Aug. 18, The

Jumpin’ Joz Band; and Aug. 25, Rickey Woodard. For more information,

Leela and Suhaila Productions present “Sheherezade,” a theatrical

dance/circus, at 8 p.m. today at the El Portal Theatre, 5269

Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood. The show brings ancient stories to

life through a belly dance journey into the mysteries of the East.

Spinning her nightly tales, Suhaila Salimpour as the Sheherezade

enchants the audience with her magical fantasies while aerialists and

fire dancers weave glittering tales of adventure. Residents

performing are Marla Martin, producer, of La Crescenta; Christie

Canaria, Glendale; Rebecca Reiker, La Crescenta; and Rachael

Harryman, La Canada Flintridge. Additional performances are at 8 p.m.

Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets range from $25 to $28.

Glendale resident Kanya Bugreyev’s art exhibit, “White Magnolias &

Other Forms of Beauty,” continues at Whites Gallery, 2414 Honolulu

Ave., Montrose. She paints impressionistic oil paintings. Her work

has earned her three gold medals from the California Art Club. A

reception for the artist is from 6 to 8 p.m. today. The show ends

Singer/songwriter Brooke Ramel performs on guitar from 8:30 to

11:30 p.m. every Friday in July upstairs at the Bennigan’s patio at

the Glendale Marketplace, one half block south of Broadway on Brand

Boulevard.

ON STAGE

The Falcon Theatre’s Family Summer Theatre presents the world

premiere of the musical “Groovaloo.” The Groovaloos, an eclectic

group of hip hop dancers, has recently been featured in Gap and iPod

commercials, the American Music Awards and films like “Charlie’s

Angels.” Performances are 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 4

p.m. Sundays through Aug. 28. Tickets are $25, $20 for students,

seniors and subscribers and $15 for children 12 and under. For
