NBC elevates three Burbank executives

NBC announced a shake-up in its Burbank executive ranks, according to reports.

Katherine Pope, an executive at NBC Universal Television Studio, was named executive vice president of NBC Entertainment, the chief deputy to Entertainment President Kevin Reilly. Pope will be in charge of NBC’s new series development. Another studio executive, Jeff Ingold, was named head of NBC’s comedy development.

NBC said that Michael Thorn was leaving. Roles for Ghen Maynard, Reilly’s previous second in command, and comedy development chief Cheryl Dolins have not been determined.

Restaurant to host Chamber mixer

Picanha, a restaurant, will host the Burbank Chamber of Commerce January mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at 269 E. Palm Ave.

Admission is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. The cash drawing will be worth $600.

Q Television Network adds Kmetko

Q Television Network, based in Burbank, added Steve Kmetko to anchor the revamped network news program “QTN World News with Steve Kmetko.”

The program airs daily at 4 p.m.

QTV broadcasts programming for the gay and lesbian community on a subscription basis on such cable systems as Time Warner, Cox Communications and RCN.

Kmetko, a veteran television personality, was with KCBS in Los Angeles for more than 11 years and appeared frequently as a CBS “This Morning” entertainment reporter.

Kmetko was the co-anchor of “E! News Daily,” “E! News Weekend” and E!’s correspondent covering the Academy Awards and Golden Globes.

QTN World News covers current events from the United States and around the world, with correspondents in Orlando, New York City, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., London and Moscow
