BRIEFLY IN PUBLIC SAFETY

Man is killed at shooting range

Burbank police are investigating the death of a man who reportedly killed himself inside the Firing Line Indoor Shooting range at 1060 N. Lake St., officials said.

The man was identified as a 25-year-old Glendale man, Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said.

The man shot himself in the head about 5:40 p.m. Monday at the shooting range, where he was pronounced dead, Corral said. The death was deemed a suicide, Corral said.

Power outage affects two areas in city

A power outage began in Burbank at 7:54 p.m. Sunday. The outage affected two areas — power feeders connected to the McCambridge area, bordering Eton Drive to Amherst Drive and a power source that fed to Sixth Street and Scott Road.

A total of 11 commercial and 786 residential were affected in these areas. The power was restored at 8:36 p.m., only lasting a total of 42 minutes.

One power source to McCambridge bordering Haven Way and Jamestown Road and between Andover Drive and Scott Road took a little longer to resolve because of the need to clean up debris.

About 20 commercial and 316 residential properties were ultimately restored at 8:59 p.m.
