BURBANK — Since getting into the fitness industry 17 years ago, Greg Bedrossian dreamed of opening up his own gym.
With the recent opening of the Burbank Athletic Club in downtown, he has three fitness centers that he can claim as his own.
Bedrossian has also opened athletic clubs in the media district and on North Hollywood Way.
The 30,000-square-foot Burbank Athletic Club at 226 E. Palm Ave. offers LCD screens on cardio equipment and unique group-activity classes.
Members can sign up for boxing/kickboxing, boot camp and women-only circuit training — a hybrid program that includes personal training, group workout and nutritional guidance.
The OM Room hosts Pilates and yoga classes, therapeutic bodywork, meditation, ayurvedic and nutrition consultations, massage as well as Zen spin.
“We are a one-stop shop,” Bedrossian said.
“People come up with lots of excuses not to work out, so I wanted to lend my members an environment where they didn’t need to make excuses because they have tons of fitness options.
“My passion is to help my members achieve better health. So I designed this club around health and wellness while maintaining a competitive edge in the fitness industry by providing all contemporary amenities.”
The fitness center will enhance and revitalize the downtown district, said Gary Olson, president of the city’s Chamber of Commerce.
“Greg knows what he is doing. He has been in the industry for a long time and has invested quite a bit to spruce things up,” Olson said.
“I think it will be a great contributor to the downtown.”
