RESIDENTS SERVING IN THE MILITARY
Air Force Airman 1st Class Kody J. Kerrigan has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, core values, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
Kerrigan is the son of James Kerrigan and Kallie Sitterly of Burbank. In 2008, the airman graduated from John Burroughs High School.

Navy Seaman Recruit Matthew M. Cooper, son of Alice M. Sanchez, of Commerce, and Jerone M. Cooper, of Burbank, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill. Cooper is a 2006 graduate of Bell Gardens High School.

Navy Seaman Recruit Jamila M. Habibullah, daughter of Ana Sanchez and stepdaughter of Frank C. Ostos of Burbank, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill. Habibullah is a 2008 graduate of Birmingham High School.

Navy Fireman Trevor J. Howell, son of Julie Y. Howell of Burbank, along with fellow sailors and Marines aboard USS Peleliu (LHA 5), the flagship of the Peleliu Expeditionary Strike Group, homeported in San Diego, recently returned from a six-month deployment to the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operation.
During the deployment, the group conducted maritime security operations, theater security cooperation, community relations projects, and participated with coalition nations in training exercises. Additionally, the group rescued six mariners from a sinking vessel in the Strait of Balabac and thwarted a pirate attack on a civilian merchant vessel in the Gulf of Aden.
Howell is a 2006 graduate of John Burroughs High School and joined the Navy in June 2007.
