The Colony Theatre Company presents “Candida,” written by George Bernard Shaw, beginning preview performances at 8 tonight and continuing through Friday and opening at 8 p.m. Saturday at the theater, 555 N. Third St., Burbank. Preview tickets run $20 to $25 and opening night is $50. Regular performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 and 7 p.m. Sundays until March 8. Tickets are $37 to $42. The comedy’s focus is on newlywed couple Corie and Paul Bratter, who are setting up house in a minuscule fifth-floor walk-up apartment in a downtown Manhattan brownstone.

An exhibition by Shari Beaubien, mixed media artist, opens with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Creative Arts Center Gallery, 1100 W. Clark Ave., Burbank. There will be a drawing for a matted fine art print from one of Beaubien’s paintings. The ends Feb. 25. “Swing Night,” featuring the John Burroughs High School Jazz Band, will be from 7 to 11:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Burbank Media Center, 150 E. Angeleno Ave., Burbank. Ticket price includes swing dance lesson, demonstration, hors d’oeuvres and beverages. Advance tickets are encouraged and are $20 per individual or $35 per couple; door price is $25 per individual or $40 per couple. Proceeds will be used to support the Instrumental Music Program.
