Police Report

The following were taken from daily booking reports from the Burbank Police Department.

AREA 1

1100 block of West Olive Avenue

A 17-year-old John Burroughs High School student reported being robbed and beaten by several possible gang members on his way home from the Burbank-Burroughs football game. After asking him if he was from a gang, one of the suspects punched the victim in the face and took his iPod. All three suspects then ran off.

West Burbank Boulevard and North Beachwood Drive

A 50-year-old woman reported that a man followed and tried to coax her into his vehicle. He is described as Latino, between 35 and 40 years old. The vehicle was described as a full-size pickup truck.

10800 block of Oxnard Street, North Hollywood

A 58-year-old Burbank woman reported that she was conned out of $5,000 after being approached by a woman who told her that she and others had kidnapped her daughter. Though the kidnapping turned out to be a hoax, the victim did not realize it until after she had taken $5,000 out of the bank and given it to the suspect. The suspect is described as a Latino woman in her 40s, with long dark hair pulled into a ponytail.

2500 block of West Victory Boulevard

A 29-year-old Lancaster man was chased by a male transient with a knife while working in front of the CVS drug store. The transient accused the victim of bothering a friend and pulled out a knife. While chasing the man through the parking lot, the transient stopped and ran in another direction. The case is under investigation.

AREA 2

 1300 block of North San Fernando Road

An 18-year-old Burbank man was arrested at Carl’s Jr. for assaulting another man with a metal rod. During an argument, the suspect removed a metal rod from inside his pocket and struck the victim over the head. The victim wrestled with the suspect for the metal rod. Both men then stopped wrestling and walked away. Police arrived on the scene and detained all parties. After an investigation, the suspect was arrested and transported to the Burbank Police jail.
