[DEVELOPING] A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge on Wednesday postponed the arraignment of a Burbank Unified teacher accused of having sex with a 14-year-old student so that she can continue to work with authorities, her attorney said.

Amy Beck, a 33-year-old teacher at Jordan Middle School, will remain in jail and is working with authorities as they investigate allegations that she had a sexual relationship with a student who was 14 at the time, her attorney, Michael Williamson, said.

“My client is not making any admissions,” Williamson said. “She’s voluntarily assisting and cooperating with the Burbank Police Department.”

Beck appeared in a Burbank courtroom Wednesday morning in a long-sleeve navy blue sweater and pants while Superior Court Judge Patrick Hegarty approved postponing her arraignment to March 25.

Her eyes were fixated on the ground throughout the proceeding as she sat, hands bound, in the jury box.

“My client wanted to discusses the issues with the Burbank Police Department and that’s all I can say,” Williamson said.

Beck turned herself in Monday afternoon to Burbank police, and is being held on $175,000 bail, police said.

Burbank Unified School District officials said she submitted a short resignation letter on Friday.
