AREA 1

900 block of West Burbank Boulevard Police on May 14 arrested a 31-year-old woman after she allegedly stole a wallet and money from an employee area at the local Planned Parenthood. Mayra Lopez, of Los Angeles, was arrested after police conducted a follow-up investigation and discovered that the victim’s debit card and other credit cards were used four times in Los Angeles. They responded to Lopez’s home the next day and recovered the employee’s credit cards and some of the property.

500 block of North Frederic Street Officers on May 14 responded to a domestic disturbance after a 41-year-old man reported being stabbed by his suicidal partner. The 43-year-old suspect drank a large amount of alcohol, and made several statements about wanting to kill herself. While wresting over a knife, the woman gouged the man in his left eye. Officers also spotted several marks across the man’s neck area. She was not arrested for the assault with a deadly weapon, but the complaint was forwarded to county prosecutors. Based on her mental state, she was transported to a psychiatric facility.

Intersection of Chandler Boulevard and Hollywood Way A 33-year-old woman was walking along the Chandler Bikeway on Tuesday when she felt someone grab her rear end. When she turned around, another person grabbed the fanny pack she was wearing. She held onto the fanny pack and refused to let it go. The suspect let go of the pack and two people sped off on bicycles southbound on Hollywood Way. The woman called the police, who arrived and searched the area. Patrol officers detained two boys on bicycles a short distance away. Both were arrested for attempted robbery, transported to the police station and later released to their parents.

AREA 2

700 block of Providencia Avenue Four boys on May 14 reported that they were confronted by another group of teens at Miller Park. One of the suspects reportedly demanded a mobile phone from a 10-year-old victim. The suspect then grabbed the phone from the boy while the others sat in a van and taunted the rest of the boys. The victim grabbed the phone back and all of the boys ran. The investigation continues, as officers received information that the suspects may frequent the park on a normal basis.

900 block of North Third Street A 16-year-old boy on May 15 reported that his car was vandalized while he attended a function at Burbank High School. The victim saw three men who attacked him last year at the same school event. The victim parked his car in the school lot and returned later to discover threatening statements written on the windows of his vehicle. The victim told police that the three men involved in the attack last year were trying to intimidate him because of their upcoming court date. Investigators are following up on the information, and the case is ongoing.

2000 block of Richard Street A resident on May 16 was awakened by someone opening the door to his bedroom. The resident chased out the suspect, who jumped into a white Ford F-150 truck to flee. Officers responding to the area detained two people in a white truck a short distance away from the crime scene. Police arrested Anthony Ravelo, 22, and Shaun White, 23, both of Burbank, and during the booking process found two syringes with a substance resembling heroin. An investigation is ongoing to determine the suspect’s involvement in two auto burglaries that also took place in the area.
