Realtors present graduating seniors scholarships

Real estate agents affiliated with Dilbeck Realtors in Burbank entertained seven 2010 Burbank graduates and their families with a Scholarship Award Ceremony and luncheon held in their honor June 29 at the Dilbeck Burbank office at 303 N. Glenoaks Blvd.

Attending and receiving Dilbeck/Community Service Foundation Scholarship Awards were Katlin Abu Ata, Serli Shaverdi, Mychelle Vannoy, Eric Viebahn, Tyler Wells and Emily Yun, Burbank High School graduates and Jacob Motz, John Burroughs High School graduate.

Funds for the awards were provided by individual contributions from the Realtors and supplemented by a generous donation from the Dilbeck Charitable Foundation. Students were recognized for their academic, personal and community involvement.


Military representatives graduate from basic training

Army Pvt. Kristine Tewfik has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla.

She is the daughter of Hasmig Tewfik of Saugus and Rami Tewfik of Burbank. Tewfik is a 2005 graduate of Bowman High School in Santa Clarita.

Army National Guard Spec. Sarah J. Wear has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.


Wear earned distinction as an honor graduate of the course.

She is the daughter of Keith Wear of Jefferson City, Mont., and Lynn Wetherwax of Burbank.

The specialist graduated in 2002 from Burbank High School, and received a bachelor’s degree in 2007 from Carroll College in Helena, Mont.
