Despite the wet weather on Wednesday, Burbank firefighters responded to two structure fires on West Magnolia Boulevard.

In the 1400 block, a morning fire burned out the front office of A-Sure Fit Original Equipment.

It was quickly knocked down by firefighters with minimal damage to the surrounding units after the smoke initially spread into an attached warehouse area, officials said.

Investigators estimated the damage to the building at around $20,000, and about $7,500 more in lost or damaged merchandise at the automobile upholstery business.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters also responded to a call from a commercial structure near the intersection of West Magnolia Boulevard North Orchard Drive at 12:46 p.m.

Smoke was billowing from the roof of the building after the wooden frames of the walls caught fire during an electrical short, said fire Capt. Ron Bell.

Investigators are still working to determine the initial cause of the fire.

Fire Department officials estimated $10,000 in damage to the structure, which was believed to be a film studio.

Neither business owner could be reached for comment.
