The following were taken from reports filed with the Burbank Police Department.

Area 1

4300 block of West Kling Street

Three auto burglaries occurred during the evening of Nov. 16 and the early morning of Nov. 17. No suspects were seen, and either the front driver or passenger windows of the vehicles had been smashed out. The stolen items included global satellite positioning systems, laptops, a makeup bag, wallet and an iPod.

Burbank Police Department cautions residents against leaving valuables in their vehicles or recommends hiding them from view.

600 block of North Victory Boulevard

At 2:25 p.m. Nov. 17, a 25-year-old Burbank woman allegedly walked into New Star Clothing and stole merchandise. Melissa Ruiz was confronted by store personnel outside the business where she reportedly removed the stolen clothing from her bag and placed it on the ground. When the employees tried to stop her from walking away, she allegedly began swinging a knife toward them. Police officers found Ruiz a short distance away. She is being held in lieu of $46,000 bail and will appear in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Dec. 7 for a pretrial hearing.

1200 block of North Valley Street

On Nov. 16, jewelry and a handgun were taken during a residential burglary. The home was entered through an open bathroom window, and no suspects were seen.
