Police: Man commits suicide at George Izay Park

A man shot and killed himself at George Izay Park midday Saturday near the picnic tables, police said. No one else was injured.

At 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, Burbank police received reports of shots fired near the picnic tables at the park, officials said. Officers who reported to the scene discovered a dead man with an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Police have not released his identity, age or city of residency. No other details about the apparent suicide were immediately available.
