Obituary: Vivian Harker Avery

Longtime Burbank resident Vivian Harker Avery died May 14. She was 90.

Born Feb. 15, 1921, in Magrath Alberta, Canada, Avery was the seventh child of Nephi and Harriet Bingham Harker.

She married Robert A. Avery in 1942 in Kingman, Arizona. They lived most of their married lives in Burbank, where they raised their three boys. Robert Avery died on Sept. 11, 1998.

Vivian Avery served in the Primary, YWMIA and Relief Society.

She is survived by her children James, Timothy, and Robert; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and sisters Gloria Alston, Martha Wright and Hope Jensen.

A memorial will be held at 2 p.m. on May 24 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 136 North Sunset Canyon Drive, in Burbank. Graveside services will follow at Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, in Los Angeles.
