4 to 11 p.m.: Burbank’s centennial celebration encompasses six city blocks, including San Fernando Boulevard, Palm Avenue, AMC Walkway, Orange Grove Avenue and Olive Avenue between Magnolia Boulevard and Angeleno Avenue. Free shuttles courtesy of SuperShuttle run continuously with stops at McCambridge Park Recreation Center, 1515 N. Glenoaks Blvd., and the downtown Burbank Metrolink station, 201 N. Front St. Carpooling is recommended. Parking structures on Orange Grove Avenue between San Fernando Road and Third Street will be closed. All other parking is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

3:30 to 4:30 p.m.: A pre-party show will feature The Bluez Express, a swing and rock band, on Centennial Way at Olive Avenue and Third Street.

5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.: The opening ceremony will begin with the national anthem, sung by Ashley Aparicio, in front of City Hall, 275 E. Olive Ave., and a live broadcast with NBC’s Fritz Coleman, civic dignitaries, former mayors and celebrities. Mickey and Minnie Mouse will present a cupcake display and will give away cupcakes on a first-come, first-served basis. A time capsule will be revealed at Angeleno Avenue and San Fernando Boulevard.

5:45 p.m.: An air parade with helicopters and World War II planes will pay tribute to Bob Hope Airport, Lockheed and Burbank’s aviation history. Mascots and cartoon characters following the lead of Bugs Bunny will parade from City Hall, 275 E. Olive Ave., to San Fernando Boulevard. An 18-foot animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex evoking the carnivore in Steven Spielberg’s “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” will be on display for photos at the Universal City Studios Credit Union, 175 E. Olive Ave. There will also be free screenings of the movie, which was partly filmed in Burbank.

6 to 9:15 p.m.: Aviation Avenue at Angeleno Avenue and San Fernando Boulevard will present a USO Show by Wartime Radio Revue. There will be vintage cars, a dance floor and displays from Bob Hope Airport, Lockheed and the Gordon R. Howard Museum.

6 to 9:15 p.m.: A classic rock ‘n’ roll band, Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries, will perform on Centennial Way at Olive Avenue and Third Street.

6 to 9:15 p.m.: High Street Band will perform music of Elvis Presley, the Beatles and other jukebox classics on the AMC Walkway at San Fernando Boulevard and Palm Avenue.

6 to 9:15 p.m. Radio Disney will present Sacha Edwards, a 14-year-old pop and rock star, at San Fernando Boulevard and Magnolia Boulevard. The Radio Disney Road Crew will also have games, dances and contests.

9:30 to 9:45 p.m.: A fireworks display will be choreographed to Burbank-related movie and television soundtracks. Best viewing at San Fernando Boulevard and Orange Grove Avenue.
