Police files reveal various thefts in city

The following incidents were filed at the Burbank Police Department:

— About $280 in copper wire was removed from a business when latch bolts were loosened from a chain-link fence, Burbank police said. The business, located on the 1900 block of Empire Avenue, reported the theft as occurring between mid-March and the end of September.

— A handgun was reported missing from the office of a business between Sept. 26 and 27, police said. The business is located on the 2500 block of San Fernando Road. The business was open and someone went through the office and removed the gun, Police Officer Joshua Kendrick said.

— About $3,000 in change from a large Sparkletts water bottle was stolen from a residence on the 1500 block of Keystone Street on Sept. 27. It was possible the thief entered through an unlocked rear door, police said.

— Sometime between Aug. 27 and Sept. 27 at least $8,000 in jewelry was taken from a residence on the 400 block of Olive Avenue. It was not clear how the thief gained access. A purse and money were also reported missing.

— On Sept. 28 a laptop valued at about $1,320 was stolen from a residence on the 1800 block of Grismer Avenue.
