Two bike accidents in Burbank Thursday night cause injuries

Burbank Police Department Traffic officers are investigating one of two accidents that occurred Thursday night involving bicyclists.

The first accident occurred at Hollywood Way and Alameda Street, where three bicyclists were traveling southbound Hollywood Way and one of them was struck by a car going eastbound.

The bicyclist landed on the hood of the SUV that struck him. The impact shattered the windshield of the vehicle. The victim was transported by paramedics LA County USC Trauma Center with critical head injuries and other injuries.

Police closed down the intersection for several hours investigating the accident.

The second accident of the night involving a bicyclist was less than a mile away. Police were called to the intersection of Buena Vista and Riverside Drive where a woman on a bike was struck by a vehicle and sustained a less severe head injury, she was transported by paramedics to Saint Joseph’s Medical Center.
