Federal officials criticize MTA for not reaching out to riders
The Federal Transit Administration on Monday released its final audit of Metro, the county’s transportation agency, criticizing the organization for failing to adequately study capital projects and doing a poor job reaching out to riders who don’t speak English.
Officials with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority said last week they knew the report was on its way and assured that they had an action plan to come into compliance. Chief Executive Officer Art Leahy also said he mandated that dozens of managers undergo more civil rights training.
