Los Angeles police were looking Tuesday for two men suspected of posing as deliverymen and robbing a Sherman Oaks home.
The men knocked on the door of the house in the 4900 block of Matilija Avenue and said they had a delivery to make.
As soon as the elderly male resident opened the door, one of the suspects struck him in the head with what the man believed was a gun, said Sgt. Matthew Jacobik of the LAPD's Van Nuys division.
Police said the men tied the victim up with zip ties while his wife ran to the rear of the house and locked herself in a bathroom. The robbers collected money and jewelry and left within a few minutes, Jacobik said.
