Bob Hope Airport to close down parking for new transit center

Share

Burbank Bob Hope Airport closed the entrances to its economy parking Lot D today in preparation for construction of a new transportation center scheduled to begin this summer.

A large portion of the parking lot will be used for the planned $108.9-million center, which will bring all rail, bus and rental car operations under one roof, said airport spokesman Victor Gill.

All vehicles currently parked in Lot D, located at the corner of Hollywood Way and Empire Avenue, must exit prior to May 15, according to the airport.

Cars remaining in Lot D after May 15 will be relocated to economy Lot A.

Economy parking will remain available in Lots A, B, and C at a daily rate of $10, with a free shuttle to transport passengers to the terminal arriving every seven to 10 minutes, airport officials said.

Parking directly across from the terminal is available in Lot E and in the short-term parking structure at daily rates of $21 and $31, respectively.

A new Lot D relocated north of the existing site is scheduled to open in spring 2014.
