Interstate 5 lanes reopen in Burbank after big rig crash
All lanes on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Burbank were reopened at about 1:45 p.m. Monday after a big rig overturned earlier in the morning and spilled roughly 1,000 gallons of fuel.
Three of four lanes were closed shortly after the crash was reported at about 6:50 a.m. near the Scott Road exit, where about 15 feet of a nearby wall was missing, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver was able to exit the vehicle and emergency crews were able to get the truck upright a short time later, but it took hours to clean up the mess.
The lanes closures clogged the I-5 corridor and the Ventura (134) Freeway junction for most of the day.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
